A program to preserve the heart of the Cocora Valley, protect the wax palm, and strengthen the legacy of our communities.

Why is it important?
The wax palm, a symbol of Colombia, not only defines the majestic landscape of the Cocora Valley but is also key to the ecosystem and our history. Since ancient times, the connection between indigenous peoples and nature has been fundamental. Today, like them, we seek to protect our land so future generations can enjoy the natural and cultural richness that the Cocora Valley represents.

This program combines ecological conservation with respect for our indigenous roots while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Three fundamental pillars:

  1. Protect the wax palm: This monumental tree is not just an icon but a crucial element for biodiversity. We aim to protect and restore its habitat.

  2. Coffee and conservation: Agriculture and conservation can go hand in hand. We propose collaborating with local coffee farmers, supporting them in maintaining sustainable practices, allowing them to cultivate quality coffee while caring for biodiversity.

  3. Honor our indigenous history: The story of the Cocora Valley and its name, which means "star of water," has deep meaning. It is vital that we recognize this legacy and pass it on to future generations.
